271.000 vs. 120 (Bosch acquires Innovations)

Let's see if size really matters

Yesterday the company I'm currently working for (Innovations Softwaretechnologie GmbH) was acquired by the The Bosch Group. 120 (Innovations) employees vs. 271 000 (Bosch) - wow. I have to admit that I never thought that Innovations is to be sold because it was privately held for about 10 years. But I guess this is what just happened.

As a software engineer integrating different IT-systems is often part of your daily job and also often the most interesting part. So now I'm really curious about how integrating the small company of Innovations into the huge Bosch group will work out. I guess this acquisition brings a lot of opportunities, for example new offices in Singapore and North America. So let's see if the size of a company really matters that much - or if the innovative, cooperative and productive "Innovations spirit" will continue to flow. I hope for the latter.

A and of course I don't want to spend my time with programing washing machines - just like Mike ;-)
